Objects with beauty and meaning
After a long education in research and material sciences, I have worked as researcher in different countries (France, Germany, USA and Norway).
I enjoy to explore, walk a bit randomly in cities, in museums, on marketplaces, in gardens, in landscapes, guided by shapes, colours, impressions and emotions.
One could think that there is a gap between the scientific truth and an aesthetic, but in fact the approaches of a scientist and those of an artist are practically very closed – only constraints, given or chosen, lead to different works.
Persevering in the research of the appropriated hand movement to shape beautiful objects, constantly awake to understand empirically the features and the potential of a material (wood, ceramic, glaze, wicker...) and using knowledges of material sciences, I focus my attention toward the fabrication of objects, unique and original, for daily use, thus giving a discreet and visible touch of aesthetic and surprise. I am also interested in the fabrication of art objects.
At the moment, one of my driving creative force is to associate ceramic and wood to fabricate an object. A second driving creative and seasonal force is to use objects form the nature (flowers, leaves, seeds...) to generate patterns in the clay.
